Help Foundation works with stakeholders in the fisheries sector to promote sustainable fisheries management and ocean governance. we support improvement in fisheries value chain, address the issues of illegal unreported and unregulated fishing and fisheries co-management.
HELP Foundation Africa promotes sustainable fisheries through the combination of education, policy advocacy, and community engagements, focusing on raising awareness, influencing policy, and supporting local communities.
HELP Foundation Africa specifically;
- provide training and resources to fishers, helping them adopt sustainable fishing practices and improve their livelihoods.
- organize events and campaigns to share information about ocean health, artisanal fisheries and aquaculture with a broad range of audiences.
- work with governments to create policies that support sustainable ocean governance and fisheries management, including stronger regulations on fishing and improved enforcement of illegal fishing.
- support local communities in implementing sustainable fishing practices and managing their resources effectively through collaborative Fisheries management.
